Myotonology follows the Arndt-Schultz Law, which states, “weak stimuli excites physiological activity.” Myotonology creates this stimulus through microcurrent therapy. Microcurrent therapy originated from treatments for Bells Palsy, as a way to stimulate the facial nerves. Doctors noticed that after treating patients, their faces looked smoother and more youthful. Low microcurrent excites the muscles and skin of the face, which increases circulation, supplying more oxygen to those muscles. The increased circulation and muscle stimulation improves the tonality of the skin.
During Myotonology treatments our certified Myotonologists isolate approximately 30 muscles of the face. The stimulation of muscle fibers helps restore a youthful look to the face.
Myotonology maintains or increases muscle tone in three ways:
Circulation: By increasing circulation our certified Myotonologist are able to provide the muscles with the nutrients they need to maintain tonus. Blood flow through the tissue increases, which provides, increased nutrition and better waste removal. The proper chemical balance is restored and the tissue becomes healthier.
Micro-Contraction: Myotonology stimulates nerves with low microcurrent electrical impulses that cause a micro-contraction. By changing the frequency of the pulse the muscle can be relaxed or tightened. This process rejuvenates the muscles and returns them to the proper tonus.
Cerebral Effect: By exciting the nerves of the peripheral nervous system we are able to imitate the neuro impulses that create and maintain muscle tone. This effect triggers the brain to initiate more of these impulses. This effect lasts for 24-48 hours, and is why there is an increased effect after a few hours or overnight. Ina series of Myotonology treatments, this effect is cumulative.
