Myotonology^® is a non-invasive procedure that uses the latest state-of-the-art microcurrent technology to restore the skin’s tonicity. By increasing skin circulation and metabolism, improving skin tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and increasing hydration and nourishment of the skin, Myotonology^® treatments will make the face look healthier, younger, toned and refreshed.

Myotonology^® is not electro muscle stimulation (EMS). Instead, Myotonology^® follows the Arndt-Schulz Law
and provides the microcurrent facial treatment known as hormesis. Robert Picker, MD used the Arndt-Schulz Law to support the therapeutic benefits of microcurrent therapy. Low microcurrent tends to increase circulation, oxygenate the blood and improve the tonality of the skin.

During a session we are able to isolate approximately 30 muscles of the face. By stimulating muscle fibers with low electrical impulses, we are able to restore proper tone to the facial muscles.

Myotonology^® maintains or increases muscle tone in three ways:

Circulation: By increasing circulation, we are able to provide the muscles with the nutrients they need to maintain tonus. The tissue is flooded with blood, which provides nutrition and removes waste products. The proper chemical balance is achieved and the tissue becomes healthier.

Micro-Contraction: By stimulating a nerve with electrical impulses, we are able to cause a micro-contraction in a muscle that allows for tightening or relaxation of the muscle. This process rejuvenates the muscles and returns them to the proper tonus.

Cerebral Effect: By exciting the nerves of the peripheral nervous system, we are able to imitate the neuro impulses that create and maintain muscle tone. This effect "reminds" the brain to initiate more of these impulses. This effect lasts for 24 – 48 hours and is why you see an increased effect after a few hours or overnight. In a series of Myotonology^® treatments, this effect is cumulative.
